![]() You clearly have no clue and have never dealt with anything software related.Ībout 10 games support cross platform play Its simply a denotation of the choices you made so they are easily able to unwrap that and convert it. It's able to do this because the save for most of Telltales games are a string of text like thisġ,3,5,2,4,1,2,3,5. Telltale cloud is not a s basically an application that unpacks the save thats created, exports the data and repacks it. Originally posted by Nate Dawggeh:I also edited and said it might have been on the list of coming soon. There's a lot of letters back and forth from the companies to go through, good luck. Bethesda softworks is pushing for it because they want to expand the integration of modding and modding availability for games, Telltale who have the console rights to 7 days are pushing for full licence cross platform back by the walking dead licence, they're trying to use that as leverage to push into all other games. ![]() SquareEnix Experienced great success and have put a lot of pressure on Sony. Follow the bread crumb trail you'll find it eventually. ![]() The capabilities are there, being implemented and growing.īeing saved on server or console doesn't really make that much of a difference, it can just force the console to run on server saves, that doesn't prevent cross platforming.Īnyway, I'm too tired to argue or explain it in detail, the information is there, I spent hours and hours going through pages and don't feel like going through it again. I also edited and said it might have been on the list of coming soon. Only a handful exist and they are all either online games, or games where the save is very basic Here is a list of the current cross platform games. I'd be very intrested to see the articles you mention where they are planning to do it for 7 days to die as its something that has to be built into the game when its made and not something you just patch in without having to re-do your network code. So at this point its all guesswork over what MIGHT be done years down the road. The only correct statement is Sony and Microsoft are experimenting and somewhat more open to the idea of cross platform games, but absolutely no indication of it ever being widespread or any mention whatsoever of it being used for 7dtd. Online games can support it because all the processing is done on a centrally hosted server and games like FFXV most of your save data is hosted on the server, not on your machine hence why crossplay works. The only games with cross platform saves are ones where data is hosted outside of the game, or cases like some of Telltales games where their save file is literally just a list of choices that were made in which they convert it themselves.
